Fong Lee, was he framed or did he actually have a gun? The question is still being debated whether the gun was in the hand of Fong Lee or if it was placed at the scene. Fong Lee's sister claimed that he doesnt even own a gun. Fong Lee was chased by a police officer and the officer shot him multiple times while he was trying to run and he was shot in the chest killing him instantly.

Predicting Death

Jamie Baer predicted her death. Her last words were sent through a text message to her friends saying "I'm going 160 w/ a drunk driver, im going to die." (patterson A1). It was just minutes later that the car ended up flipping about 15 times landing right side up 75 feet off the highway. The driver whom was not wearing a seatbelt was thrown from the car but the two girls riding with him had their seatbelts on. Jamie's friend Kelsey Palmer was riding in the passenger seat and Jamie was in the back seat. Jamie and Kelsey had to be cut out of their seatbelts. Rushing all 3 of them to the hospital only 2 of them survived. Jamie died just hours after arriving at the hospital. Jamie was prgnant at the time so the doctors had to have Jamie give birth to the child before she died. They were succesful at saving the baby but she is not in very good condition. The drunk driver, Frank Tregoning, is being charged with criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation. The driver was also found having morphine and marijuana in his system.

Overcoming Obstacles

Often joining a gang is a last resort. These people can struggle at home, or they may not even have a home and a gang is the last option. Most people may not see gang members as needing to overcome obstacles. The obstacle they need to overcome is either finding a way to survive or finding a way out. According to the article, "CORRECTIONS TODAY" by Chad R. Trulson, less then five precent of the jail population are gang members. This means either the amount has gone down, or they are not catching them. This shows a different obstacle to overcome, how will the law deal with this five precent. The laws response to this to throw them all together in jail, this will not overcome the obstacle. "I'm convinced that if you put three people on an island somewhere, two would clique up and become predatory against the other at some point." This was said by Cory Godwin. He was former president of the Gang Investigators Association for the Florida Department of Corrections.
I agree the answer to overcoming gangs is not to throw them in jail. Most of them joined becuase they had no other chioces. I believe a way to overcome the gang violence is to help out the lower class with financial aid in these times of the recession.

religion

In Cairo, Egypt King Abdulah of Saudi Arabia saturday he appointed the first female to a ministerial post. He also dismissed Sheik Ibrahim al Ghaith as head of the commission of Virtue. These are two very big decisions that will change the Islamic faith forever. Women do not even have the right to vote in Saudi Arabia but now they might be able to with a woman in a high commanding office.

Fringe

While watching the show fringe i noticed that when the guy's turned into beasts was like a natural disaster but in it's own way. Because of this docter who had a microchip in his hand as an expiriment he turned into a beast and crashed the plane he was on. Taking the lives of 130 other passengers. It was a "natural disaster" that took the lives of innocent people. I see it as a natural disaster because that it was a rare event that took the lives of 130 just ordinary people.

outside reading

I read an article in the paper about how dangerous the trails in the boundary waters are. People have been getting lost in the boundary waters because brush grows on the paths and then you cant tell where the path is. This is a big problem but the Ely District Ranger doesn't want to put up signs because they dont want any human-made objects in the boundary waters because he thinks it takes away from the nature and the experience and so far every solution people have come up with so far he has turned down. Many hickers are scared of hicking it but for others it doesnt stop them.

outside reading

In New Moon I read about how Bella kinda likes Jacob now. Bella has recently started hanging out with Jacob now because of the motorcycles. She goes over To his house everyday now and she just keeps finding herself more and more happy when she's around him. She keeps the conversations going only because she is interested where as before she used to do it so that she didnt have to talk as much. She keeps waiting wondering when she's gonna start felling sick and all tingly but it never happens. She now is enjoying herself for the first time since Edward left Forks, Washington.
